About American Rugby Scholarships

Our Story

Many young international rugby players dream of pursuing their playing career and education in the USA. My son was one of those athletes. Like many families, we invested thousands in an agency and navigated the complexities of university applications, highlight reels, coach communication, visiting and assessing universities, and learning what to do and, importantly,

what not to do.

After my son received nine scholarship offers to play Division 1 Rugby in the US, I decided to launch a consultancy service focused on American rugby scholarships to share my insights as a parent and as an American

living in the UK.

My mission is to help others find the right fit for their collegiate rugby journey through honesty, transparency, and without the high agency price tag often associated with rugby scholarships in America.

We start with a free initial consultation, followed by an in-depth personalized strategy session, and create a plan for additional assistance tailored to your support and budget needs. We offer a cost-effective and fully customizable alternative where you pay-as-you-go and choose the level of support or financial commitment that suits you.

American Rugby Scholarships is an agency with a difference, empowering you to take control of your scholarship journey in the competitive landscape of rugby scholarships USA.

The frequency and content are fully customisable to match your timeline, informational, emotional, and budgetary needs related to pursuing rugby scholarships in the USA. However, many families choose to follow a regular support programme.

Depending on your timeline, support sessions may take place on a bi-monthly, monthly, or bi-weekly basis and can be adjusted to fit your needs. Packages include:

  • Fast Track (Year 13/S6/Grade 12),

    Feedback from our Clients

Lisa Hull for her son, Carson

(Mount St Mary's, Class of 2030)

I am pleased to offer my unequivocal recommendation for Melyni Bronson as a sports agent. Throughout my son Carson’s recruitment process, Melyni’s professionalism, dedication, and deep expertise were evident in every interaction.

From the outset, she clearly laid out what she would deliver, and then delivered truly comprehensive support, from contract guidance, longterm career strategy, and thoughtful brand management that were always tailored to Carson’s goals. She met with us together and with Carson individually via Zoom to understand his strengths, academic priorities, and preferred team culture. She then mapped a clear, targeted customized plan to ultimately help him thrive both in the classroom and on the pitch.

Some standout examples: Melyni sharpened Carson’s online presence, identified a top Division 1 Rugby program that matched his profile perfectly, facilitated purposeful conversations with Coaches, and continued to proactively champion him across her coaching network and online audience so that he could receive multiple offers if he needed. Her timing and counsel were spot-on. She communicated consistently, often late in the evening when decisions were time-sensitive, keeping us focused, informed, and confident. At each milestone, she was our sounding board and also kept me (Mom) calm by telling me not to worry, “he will land exactly where he is supposed to be” and she wasn’t wrong about that!

Melyni is strategic and exceptionally well connected. Elite coaches trust her judgment and rely on her to surface athletes they might otherwise miss, and Carson was one of those. If you get the opportunity to work with American Rugby Scholarships, you will be one of the lucky ones, and in excellent hands both as an athlete and as a parent.

I recommend Melyni without any reservation. Her integrity, her knowledge of the Rugby landscape, and client-first approach make her an outstanding representative for any athlete.

Stuart Williamson for his son, Adam

Our son was keen to explore options of furthering his rugby aspirations by playing and studying in the USA. We were introduced to Melyni through school contacts and were immediately impressed by Melyni’s friendly, proactive and transparent approach.

Exploring a change like this was daunting – both in terms of what it could mean for us as a family and the potential costs involved – up-front and then obviously tuition/scholarships etc.  Melyni gave us a great grounding, with early advice and areas for my son to search, prepare and set himself up for success.   We then professionally engaged Melyni to explore further, and the incremental, structured approach provided along with sources of advice and ‘insider information’ was invaluable in our eventual decision making.

In the end our son decided to remain in Scotland to pursue rugby closer to the National setup, however we would be right back on the phone to Melyni if the situation were to change.

    Would I recommend?    100%.

Kirsty and Robin Davis for their son, Robbie

Working with Melyni was a real pleasure. She is an easy person to connect with as her personal experience is so similar to our own and her knowledge of the American schooling system so vast.

We learned a huge amount working with her and she was able to explain things clearly and set realistic deadlines to keep us on track with the process.

I would not hesitate to recommend working with Melyni if your child is interested in the American rugby scholarship programme - it's an affordable and fun way to navigate what could be a potentially complicated system.
