Many young international rugby players dream of continuing their playing career and education in the USA. My son was one of those athletes. Like many families, we paid thousands to an agency and learned the ins and outs of university applications, highlight reels, coach communication, visiting and assessing universities, what to do, and especially...what not to do.
After my son received nine scholarship offers to play Division 1 Rugby in the US, I decided to offer a consultancy service to share what I learned and my unique perspective as parent and as an American living in the UK.
My mission is to help others with truthfulness, transparency, and without the high agency pricetag.
We start with a free initial consultation, then move on to an in-depth personalised strategy session, and create a plan for additional assistance that meets your support and budget needs. We provide a cost-effective and fully customisable alternative where you pay-as-you-go and determine the level of support/financial commitment that is appropriate for you.
American Rugby Scholarships is an agency with a difference and enables you to drive your scholarship journey.
Step 1: Free Initial Consultation - Introductory and exploratory 30-45 minute discussion designed to fact-find and lay groundwork for the scholarship journey.
Step 2: Personalised Strategy Session - The cornerstone offering is a personalised, two-hour personalised strategy session that investigates personal goals, sets realistic scholarship expectations, discusses coach communications and highlight reels, GCSE/A-Level requirements, identifies next steps, and provides a better understanding of the US collegiate rugby scene.
Step 3: Ongoing Support Sessions: Ongoing/monthly sessions to ensure the scholarship journey is progressing, provide coach introductions, address obstacles, and answer questions. Frequency and content are fully customisable to match your informational, emotional, and budgetary needs.
Available Support Services and Sessions:
Programme Recommendations & Coach Introductions - Match academic performance and player goals with suitable US college rugby programmes. Make coach introductions as desired.
Topical Sessions - One-hour sessions providing interview coaching, social media management, highlight creation, SAT exam prep guidance, and college/dorm life prep, culture shock and adaptability, etc.
Final Assessment - Share guidance and enable use of a comprehensive assessment to weigh options and make final college selection.
Post-Departure Check-Ins - 2x semester calls and annual surveys.
Other Services:
Free Online/In-Person Seminars for School and Club Groups - Introductory seminar addressing a variety of topics facing parents and students in their pursuit of US rugby scholarships.
